Description of Project:
Wade Trim Loft Apartments will consist of four 2-bedroom units averaging from 1,550 to 1,850 square feet. Several of the apartments overlook the pedestrian plaza which is part of the project.
The Wade Trim project will consist of both renovated historic structures and new construction totaling approximately 80,000 square feet. The project is mixed use offering retail/restaurant/bar space on the ground floor, Wade Trim offices on the second floor, and WNEM TV5 studios on the street level. The $5.2 million mixed-use development project is expected to be complete in 2008.
The building was the former home for Dales Health Foods and Bakers Drug Store. The building is located within several redevelopment projects currently under construction which will also offer loft apartments including the Rowe project featuring loft apartments averaging 2,000 square feet and the Community Foundation project offering units averaging 1,300 square feet. Across Saginaw Street is the First Street Loft project which was completed in 2006 while plans are in progress to revitalize Buckham Alley, located adjacent to all the loft project, into an entertainment district of restaurants, nightclubs and bars.
