CULTURAL CENTER

The Flint Cultural Center is a nationally recognized cultural institution, which aims to further the arts, sciences and humanities in the community. Through live performances, unique exhibits, classes, and more, the center offers a truly unique educational and entertainment resource through a variety of institutions all located within the Flint Cultural Center campus including the Sloan Museum, Buick Gallery & Research Center, Longway Planetarium, The Whiting, Flint Youth Theatre, Flint Institute of Arts, and Flint Institute of Music.

Sloan Museum From fur trading and pioneer life, to carriage making, and the automobile boom of General Motors, the Alfred P. Sloan Museum brings history, culture, and technology to life. Visitors can also enjoy the Discovery Center, featuring hands-on science fun for all ages and a variety of special lectures and workshops for adults and children. www.SloanMuseum.org

Buick Gallery and Research Center The Buick Gallery is home to the largest collection of vintage, one-of-a-kind and experimental prototype Buick's including the recently restored 1954 Wildcat II, the XP300 and the 1910 Buick Bug. Flint Institute of Music The Flint Institute of Music is home to the Flint Symphony Orchestra (FSO) and the Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA). The FSO is composed of 77 professional musicians and is led by Maestro Enrique Diemecke, who has gained an international reputation as one of the world's most dynamic conductors. Each year, the FSPA offers performing arts and education programs in music and dance to more than 3,000 students, making it the largest community school for the arts in Michigan. www.thefim.com

Flint Institute of Arts An award-winning museum, the Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) houses the largest private collection of art in Michigan. Objects represent a diversity of cultures - from ancient Rome and Asia, to contemporary America and Europe.
